To be a dreamer
is to long for connection
the feeling of being fully
and finally seen.
To dance in the whimsy
with a wide-open heart
and feel the warmth, the cool,
the in-betweens.
It’s also to drift
from lightness and dark
the waking world and that of dreams.
To be a romantic
is the ache of wanting more
impossible asks from humankind
a yearning, a hunger
for something out of reach
a life from a bygone time.
It means to ruminate on second chances
Or chase the spark of something new
To only see where the light reflects
heart sleeves, blind eyes,
a rose-colored view.
It’s also to float
through conversations, memories
little wisps of what-ifs
a softer lens to look through.
To find poetry in the mundane
and things often overlooked
fall in love with places and names,
as if the world were woven
within pages of an old book.
To build a world from whispers
Call a fleeting moment fate
To let the magic of the unknown
breathe life, give shape
into the beginnings that await.
To be a fool
means knowing how it could all end
yet still giving in
to love and be loved,
believing in
a story unpenned.
But perhaps
there’s something special
in the power to have hope
to invite in the wonder
bathe in the moment
and let it unfold.
And if this all makes me foolish
then a fool I will be
but also a dreamer
a romantic
with a heart that beats
for the simple
the unexpected
the gift of seperendipity.
